A few months ago, I went through one of the most painful breakups of my life. The sadness felt constant — like background noise I couldn’t turn off. I kept talking to the same close friend, hoping that venting would ease the pain. But I could sense them growing tired, even if they didn’t say it.
That’s when I realized two things:
People needed to talk — not just once, but often.
They didn’t want advice or judgment. They just wanted someone to listen.
The idea struck me: what if there was a way to connect people going through the same pain, just to talk and feel heard? Not in forums. Not via text. But in a simple, anonymous video call — raw and real. That’s how Brekup was born.
